Karwar: A tourist from Shivamogga tragically died after slipping while taking a selfie at Om Beach in Gokarna.
The deceased, identified as Aslam (45), was a luggage rickshaw driver by profession. He had traveled from Shivamogga with ten friends for a trip to Gokarna. While taking a selfie on the beach, Aslam accidentally slipped, fell into the sea, and was swept away by the waves. Upon receiving the news, the police arrived at the scene and, with the help of locals, recovered the body and took it to the primary health center. There is growing concern over the loss of lives due to tourists' carelessness. Many visitors are reportedly ignoring the safety guidelines posted at the beach, leading to such tragic incidents.
