Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.
Stalin has condemned the release of a special postage stamp and commemorative coin on the occasion of the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
He said that India should be saved from the pitiful state of celebrating the centenary of the organization that formulated the communal ideology that assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
Paying floral tributes to the Gandhi statue on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, he said that India is a secular country. Mahatma Gandhi had sown the basic principles for it.
"Gandhiji's principles give us the strength to confront divisive forces whenever they sow the seeds of hatred among the people," Stalin said on social media platform X Post.
"Those in charge of the country's leadership (the Prime Minister) should save India from the pitiful state of releasing special postage stamps and a commemorative coin on the centenary of the RSS movement, which was full of communal thoughts, for the killer of the Father of the Nation," the Chief Minister said.
He said this is the pledge that all the people of the country should take on Gandhi Jayanti.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a 100 coin at the RSS centenary celebrations on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.
