Udupi: Udupi Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar revealed shocking details and unexpected twists in the murder case of AKMS bus owner and known rowdy-sheeter Saif during a press conference at the Udupi SP office today.
SP Shankar disclosed that Rida Shabana, the wife of the prime accused, Mohammed Faizal, has been arrested for her alleged role in conspiring to commit the murder. During interrogation, Faizal claimed he killed Saif because his wife, Rida, had cast an "evil eye" on him, and Saif had made similar claims. However, the investigation uncovered that Rida had been in a relationship with Saif for the past year, involving frequent chats and phone calls.
Faizal was aware of his wife’s relationship with Saif and allegedly used it to plan the murder. He lured Saif to his house in Kodavur from Manipal, where Rida was waiting. The investigation further revealed that Rida was an active participant in the conspiracy. On the day of the murder, two other accused, Shukur and Sharif, were hiding in an alley near the house. Together, the three men—Faizal, Shukur, and Sharif—allegedly attacked and killed Saif using a rod and a talwar.
SP Shankar stated that the motive behind the murder appears to be financial, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover further details.
