Udupi, September 21, 2025: A seminar titled "The Concept of Justice and Its Impact on Our Lives" was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Udupi Unit, as part of the "The Messenger of Justice Prophet Muhammad" Campaign at Ave Maria Hall. The event emphasized the importance of living without fear and fostering courage, love, and justice in society, drawing from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
Presiding over the seminar, Mohammad Kunhi, Manager of Shanti Prakashana, highlighted that religions worldwide advocate living with love, confidence, and courage, not fear or intimidation.
"Prophets, philosophers, and saints have taught us to live with hope and self-confidence, not hostility or hatred," he said. He stressed that the Quran describes Prophet Muhammad as a blessing to humanity, whose life exemplified justice, equality, and mercy. Kunhi noted the societal lack of love, mercy, and respect despite material abundance, emphasizing that justice—though often delayed or commodified—is essential for human existence. He cited the Quran’s directive to uphold justice impartially, even against oneself or kin, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad in the sixth century.
Chief guest Advocate Fr Noel Karkada explained that the purpose of law is to ensure dignity, equality, and protection of fundamental rights. "Law and justice are two sides of the same coin," he said, tracing the concept of justice to divine creation and citing figures like Prophet Muhammad, Prophet Jesus, Narayana Guru, Basavanna, and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as advocates of justice.
DySP Prabhu DT underscored the universal desire for justice, stating, "From a newborn to a dying person, everyone seeks a society where dignity and respect prevail." He emphasized equal rights for all, regardless of status.
Speakers included Dalit Sangharsh Samiti’s Sundar Master and Minorities Forum’s Charles Ambler. Nisar Ahmed, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Udupi, delivered the introductory speech, while Faiz Ahmed proposed the vote of thanks. Abdul Aziz compered the event, attended by committee members Khalid, Farooq, Sheikh Dawood, Iqbal Manna, Shahjahan Tonse, Mushir Sheikh and Peeru saheb.
