Mangaluru: Kudroli Jamia Masjid in Dakshina Kannada district drew attention on Sunday with a unique program aimed at promoting interfaith harmony and dispelling misconceptions.
The "Public Mosque Darshan" program, held at Kudroli Jamia Masjid, brought together people of all faiths in a remarkable display of unity.
Organized by the Kudroli Mosque Management Committee in collaboration with the Muslim Aikathe Vedika(MAV), Kudroli, and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), the event took place in Mangaluru. Leaders and visitors from diverse religious backgrounds participated in this special initiative.
Renovated in 2013, the centuries-old mosque warmly welcomed visitors from various faiths. Guests were greeted with hospitality, receiving gifts of dates, watermelon juice, snacks, tea, meals, Islamic literature, and perfumes.
Attendees were free to explore the mosque’s premises, including its prayer areas, upper floors, and heritage sections. They also had the opportunity to take photos and engage in meaningful discussions.
The program included a video presentation showcasing the Quran’s messages, the Prophet’s teachings, Quran translations in various languages, and the mosque’s history and architecture. Volunteers and religious scholars addressed questions about Namaz (prayer), Azan (call to prayer), mosque etiquette, and the roles of various Jamaats (congregations).
