Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed US President Donald Trump's plan to end the Gaza conflict, saying it provides a viable pathway to long-term and sustainable peace, security and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region.
Reacting to the announcement of Trump's 20-point plan in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister Modi said that he hopes all concerned will come together behind President Trump's initiative and support this effort to end the conflict and secure peace.
Trump said he had outlined a proposal on a plan to end the war in Gaza, but it was unclear whether Hamas would accept the terms.
Trump had outlined a 20-point plan to end the Israel-Hamas war and establish a transitional governing body in the war-torn Palestinian territory. Trump would lead a team that includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
