Bengaluru: The High Court has issued an interim order to stay the implementation of the order issued by the Puttur Assistant Commissioner, banishing Mahesh Shetty Timarodi from Dakshina Kannada district for a period of one year, till October 8.
A vacation bench of Justice C.M. Poonachha heard on Tuesday a writ petition filed by Mahesh Shetty Timarodi challenging the order issued by Puttur Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese on September 18, deporting him to Manvi taluk in Raichur district.
The bench, which heard the petition, granted an interim stay on the implementation of Timarodi's deportation order till October 8 and issued notices to the respondents, the State Home Department, Puttur Assistant Commissioner, Bantwal Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police and Belthangady Police Sub-Inspector, and adjourned the hearing of the petition.
The deportation order is an illegal and unilateral action. The order has been issued suddenly without listening to his plea. Therefore, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, who has requested that the deportation order be cancelled, has made an interim request to stay the implementation of the order until the application is disposed.
