On October 9, 2025, based on information about the sale of ganja near Belapu Industrial Area Cross Road in Belapu village, Kapu taluk, Shirva Police Station Sub-Inspector Manjunath Marabad and his team conducted a raid at 10:30 AM. They arrested two individuals: 1) Abhishek Palan (30) and 2) R. Shashwat (24), who were caught selling ganja. The police seized approximately 115.44 grams of ganja (estimated value ₹5,000), a digital weighing machine (estimated value ₹200), a plastic box with a leaf image (estimated value ₹50), a red zippered handbag, and a blue Yamaha FZ motorcycle (registration KA20HC7563, estimated value ₹70,000) from the crime scene.
A case has been registered at Shirva Police Station under Crime No. 68/2025, invoking Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act.
