Saifiuddin, a 52-year-old private bus business operator, was allegedly murdered by his acquaintances. Faizal Khan, a resident of Kukkikatte, Udupi, and Sharif, a resident of Doddanagudde, Udupi, were friends of Saifiuddin. On September 27, 2025, Faizal Khan visited Saiyipuddin’s home in the morning, stating they needed to travel to Mangaluru to discuss the bus business. Around 10:00 AM, Saiyipuddin and Faizal Khan left his residence near Coin Circle, Manipal, in his car. Due to prior enmity, Faizal Khan, Sharif, and others allegedly conspired to kill Saiyipuddin. Between 10:15 AM and 11:30 AM, they took him to Malpe and hacked him to death with a machete near Nagabana in Kodavoor village, Udupi taluk. The perpetrators then fled in the car. Based on a complaint filed by Saiyipuddin’s son, a case has been registered at Malpe Police Station under Crime No. 108/2025, Section 103 along with 3(5) BNS.
Three teams have been formed to investigate the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
The deceased, Saiyipuddin, was involved in 18 prior cases, including two murder cases.
