Tirthahalli: A landslide occurred at the fifth curve of Agumbe Ghat on Friday evening, bringing soil and debris onto the road and disrupting vehicular movement.
A tree also fell on a goods vehicle passing through the stretch, but the driver escaped unhurt, according to officials.
Authorities said that clearing operations may take time, and vehicle movement along the ghat is likely to remain closed until Saturday morning. Travelers from Shivamogga to Udupi have been advised to use alternative routes.
