Kasargod, Kerala:In Kumbla, Kasargod, a government higher secondary school had to suspend its school cultural festival after teachers stopped students performing a mime act in support of Palestine.

During the festival, students were showcasing a ‘Free Palestine’ mime along with the Palestinian flag. However, teachers allegedly asked them to pull down the stage curtain and prevented the performance, causing outrage among students and student organizations.

Following the incident, SFI and MSF student groups protested against the teachers’ actions, demanding accountability. The protests escalated into clashes between students and the police, forcing authorities to use lathi-charge to control the situation.

Due to the unrest, the festival was cancelled on the first day, and all events scheduled for Saturday have been postponed.
