Two young women lost their lives due to a gas leak from a geyser in Periyapattanam, Mysuru district.
The deceased have been identified as Gulfam (23) and Simran Taj (20). Simran had entered the bathroom to bathe but did not come out for an extended period. Concerned, their father, Altaf, broke down the door to check on them.
Both sisters were found in a semi-conscious state. Despite being rushed to the hospital, they succumbed to the effects of the gas leak en route.
