Udupi: The vibrant Krishna Nagari of Udupi witnessed a blend of tradition and surprise during yesterday’s Vitlapindi celebrations. Amidst the usual joy and cultural extravaganza, a group dressed as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricket team stole the show and left the crowd stunned.

Spectators were taken aback when individuals impersonating cricket stars Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Danyesh Seth, and Shepherd appeared in a grand open jeep, proudly holding a replica of the IPL trophy and waving to the cheering crowd. Dressed in official-looking RCB jerseys, the lookalikes convincingly mimicked the iconic players, drawing laughter, awe, and excitement from all sides.

Many in the crowd initially believed it was the real RCB team and rushed to catch a glimpse, shake hands, and take photos. However, it was later revealed that the group were well-prepared performers taking part in the festival as part of a themed costume display.

As always, the famous Pili Nalike (tiger dance) was a major highlight, bringing its own energy and enthusiasm to the streets. Yet, it was this unique twist — the RCB-themed appearance — that added a surprising modern flavor to the traditional celebration.

The performers’ creative portrayal and attention to detail left a lasting impression, proving once again how Vitlapindi continues to evolve, embracing both culture and contemporary influences in its festive spirit.
