Doha, Sept 15: The Emir of Qatar has accused Israel of deliberately targeting Qatar in a recent attack, claiming it was intended to derail ongoing Gaza peace negotiations.
Speaking at a summit, the Emir said that Israel’s actions show an attempt to bring the Arab world under its influence and transform the region into its sphere of control.
He described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vision of expanding Israeli influence as a “dangerous illusion.”
The Emir added that peace talks cannot succeed with a side that continues to use violence and betray trust.
“Attacking those involved in negotiations proves that Israel is not serious about peace and is working only to sabotage the process,” he said.The remarks reflect growing frustration in the region as tensions between Israel and Gaza continue to threaten fragile efforts toward dialogue.
