Belthangady: A significant development has emerged in the alleged murder and body burial case in Dharmasthala. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has launched a search operation for human remains in the Banglegudde forest area near the Netravati River bathing ghat. It is reported that the SIT has deployed around 50 personnel for this operation.
The action was initiated following allegations that several human remains are present in this area. It has been confirmed during the investigation that a skull fragment provided to the SIT by a witness, Chinnayya, was retrieved from this location.
Vithala Gowda, the father-in-law of Soujanya, had previously stated during a spot inspection that he observed multiple human remains in the Banglegudde area. Based on these statements and to gather further information, the SIT decided to search this forest area spanning approximately 12 acres.
The SIT has obtained necessary permissions from the forest department, as the area falls under the Belthangady forest zone. The search operation began this morning, and it is said that this could provide a new direction to the investigation.
